Joe Arnall: Former State Legislator &Businessman

Joe was born and raised in Newnan, Georgia, moving to Florida in the ‘50s. He earned degrees in psychology and insurance, and served as a Florida state legislator from 1988-2000. Joe then built a government relations firm and currently serves as Principal of the Foundation Enhancement Strategies Group in Ponte Vedra Beach, helping clients to amplify their charitable donations. He believes that in anything he does, it’s important to serve with dignity and honor. Joe lives in downtown Jax and enjoys long walks, golfing, and spending time with his 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren.

Paul Gruenther, MBA, Senior Real Estate Consultant

A 30-year resident of Jacksonville, Paul was born in West Point to a large Army family.He attended Virginia Tech then earned a master’s in finance from the University of Hartford. Paul worked in the corporate world for 2 decades then switched gears and obtained his real estate license. He currently works as a real estate consultant and renovating homes. Paul spent his first 20 years in the area at the beaches and is now a proud 10-year northside resident. His latest passion is film-making, screen-writing, and acting, and also enjoys reading to youngsters, offering spiritual guidance to prisoners, and spending time with his 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
Dream Date: Enjoy a Northside Wild Adventure with Paul! You’ll take the Mayport Ferry across the St. Johns River to the Sand Dollar Restaurant for lunch. You’ll then head to the beautiful Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens for an afternoon of fun exploring the sloth exhibit and other wild attractions!

Shawn is a native of St. Augustine where he has built a career in home renovation while seeking out adventure at every turn. He prides himself as an expert finish carpenter with specialties in tile and stone work. When he’s not working or jetting off to an exotic location to hone his surfing skills, you’ll find Shawn catching a wave at our local beaches. An empty-nester whose son is in the Air Force, Shawn also loves shark tooth hunting, listening to live music, and enjoying the downtown St. Augustine scene.
Dream Date: Shawn will treat his lucky bidder to a 4-day surfing adventure in El Salvador, Central America, including hotel, airfare, and dining. There he will teach you how to surf in the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean, or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches and lush landscapes as Shawn rides the waves!
Dr. CJ Henley, Dentist

CJ grew up in Orlando and earned his undergraduate and DDS degrees from the University of Florida. He has a dentistry practice in Jax’s San Marco area and also provides dental services to patients with head and neck cancer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. CJ gives back to his community by providing pro bono services to those in need, as well asthrough “Her Song,” a Tim Tebow organization that helps survivors of human trafficking. In his free time, he enjoys boating, jet skiing, and fishing, as well as spending time with his 2 daughters.
Dream Date: You and CJ will be taken by limo to Craig Airfield where you will board a private plane to take you on a beautiful sunset aerial tour of Jacksonville while toasting the night sky with a bottle of champagne! Jay Smith, Business Owner & President of the First Coast Blues Society

Jay grew up in central Maine and attended high school and computer tech training in Newport News, Virginia. He spent 7 years in Houston during the oil boom of the 70s-80s, working with oil exploration equipment, then moved to South Florida to start a family. He later settled in Jacksonville. Jay is an avid music enthusiast and has served as President of the First Coast Blues Society since 2016. As such, he has led efforts to help young musicians gain recognition at the International Blues Festival competition in Memphis. When he’s not organizing and attending blues events, Jay keeps busy with his transportation business, taking clients to various locations in the area.
Dream Date: Jay will take his special date out for drinks and dinner in St. Augustine followed by a live music performance at the eclectic Café 11 on A1A to take in some blues and meet a visiting blues musician.
Dale Gooden, Retired Marine, Pain Clinic Manager

Dale was born and raised mostly in Jacksonville, but spent several years and graduated high school in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He then joined the Marine Corps and worked on the presidential security team in the ‘90s, then as a federal law enforcement officer for the federal reserve. Dale currently is manager of a local medical center. He loves roller coasters, saying: “Anything that's going to shoot me in the air or hang me upside down is my jam!” He also enjoys weekend trips away, dining at different restaurants, dancing, and working out regularly. “Anything that will help me stay young as long as possible!”
Dream Date: Get ready for a wild adventure as Dale takes you on an exhilarating simulated skydiving experience at I-Fly in Jax! You’ll then be treated to drinks and dinner to relax your nerves and bring you back earthside at a local restaurant.
