Hi!
I hope you enjoyed the short work week.
Mine felt looong somehow.
I spent some time in the chair.
(not on the couch, though some people might think I should, lol!)
I realized that what I need is a superstar hair stylist.
Any recommendations?
Our Club members always seem to know the right people for whatever you need.
Did you get some raffle tickets yet?
Time is running out to sell them. I really hope that all of our members can find a way to buy, or sell, $100 worth of raffle tickets each.
That would mean so many thousands of dollars raised for our charities! And this gorgeous bracelet from Underwoods is a fantastic prize.

Registration is open now for ALL general meetings for the 2019/19 Club year.
Instead of remembering to RSVP and send in your payment each month for the General Meetings, you can RSVP and pay for them all at once. Saturday, December 1st will be the 3rd annual Oh What Fun! Holiday Event at Sawgrass Village. Mark the date on your calendars. It will be 'all hands on deck' to staff the raffle ticket sales tables and other events throughout the day. We are so very fortunate to be the chosen club to work with the mall on this event. We are looking forward to it again this year!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!
I'm going to take a day off from unpacking and go to the beach! I hope you do too. I hope you are laying on the beach or by the pool with a cold drink in hand as you are reading this.
Sunday with Ti is the #1 preferred beach read of PVWC members. Or at least it should be.
And if you read this last week, I can now tell you, they DO make digital violins! One of the other kids on the softball team plays violin (or her older sister, or something like that) and her dad told me about them.
If you are lost by the above, and have some FOMO, read this.
Our Club is busy gearing up for our Underwood’s Event and Raffle. Could you help us out just a little? We need you to take $100 worth of raffle tickets and sell collect donations for them. $20 each or 3/$50 is the recommended donation.
There are some rules that say we can't sell them, just accept donations. Similar rules won't let us do it online, either. Because we are a 501C3 organization these tickets are tax deductible.
Please email Nancy Marsh at Waysandmeans@pontevedrawomansclub.com or text her at 517-927-4322 and she will get your tickets to you. You sell your tickets, get the purchaser’s information on the ticket, and bring the money and the information to the September 24th meeting.

On the bright side, I found my entire kitchen counter this weekend, for the first time since we arrived.

The Ponte Vedra Woman’s Club is celebrating new and potential members on August 23 (Thursday) from 6:00 until 7:30 pm. The ladies will gather at a member’s home to learn more about the club and the local charities they support. All ladies are welcome. If you are already a member, please bring a friend or friends with you. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served. There is no cost to attend this event, but if you are an ongoing member and would like to contribute a bottle of wine, it would be greatly appreciated. Are you having a great summer? I hope so.
I need you to make up for mine. Because moving is a drag and I have spent every weekend unpacking, with no end in sight.
I don't want to open another box! LOL, but I have to in order to find all my things. I need some of them, and have to get rid of the rest. I'm trying hard to declutter!
We are gearing up for a new PVWC Club year so I'm trying this new thing. Every Sunday I am going to send out a weekly update of what's going on with the Club. It will have reminders of any upcoming deadlines or events.

Ponte Vedra Woman’s Club Social Kick-off August 23rd
The Ponte Vedra Woman’s Club is celebrating new and potential members on August 23 (Thursday) from 6:00 until 7:30 pm. The ladies will gather at a member’s home to learn more about the club and the local charities they support. All ladies are welcome. If you are already a member, please bring a friend or friends with you. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served. There is no cost to attend this event, but if you are an ongoing member and would like to contribute a bottle of wine, it would be greatly appreciated. The board caters this event themselves with home made goodies! They are not to be missed.

I was wondering where the heck that is, so I looked it up on the map. It's right by I-295 and Beach Blvd., so it looks easy to get to.
The clothes are super cute. Most of them are UPF 50+ and there's a whole golf collection as well as dresses, shorts, and more in fun prints and activewear fabrics.
In between those two events is our November General Meeting on the evening of Monday the 13th at Lulu's Waterfront Grille.
Put $10 in the kitty, and order your own supper. And drinks, too! They always take great care of us.

Hi Everyone!
Did you have a fun Halloween? I have been eating way too much leftover candy. It's a good thing we keep it locked in the freezer.
My little one is getting bigger. No more princesses or kitty costumes. This year she was the Grim Reaper. Kinda funny-sad for me.
It's nice that the weather has cooled off and we didn't have to run the a/c on Halloween like last year!
It's also a good time to fire up the oven. Or the crock-pot. Or any other appliance that you use for making food.
Because you need to make something to bring to the Member Potluck this Saturday. I can't wait to see all the yummy food that everyone brings.
Last year someone brought amazing peanut butter brownie-type bars. I don't know who it was, but if you are reading this, I hope they will appear on the buffet again!
We also need some helpers, for set-up before and clean-up after. If you could pitch in just a little, it will make for quick work for everyone. Sue Hartman has generously opened up her home to hostess the party, so we need to hold up our end. The party starts at 6:30. If you can come at 5:30 or even 6, or plan on staying a bit late to tidy up afterwards, that will help a lot!

Hi Everyone!
Did you have a great weekend?
We tried to go to the beach.
Brrr! The water has gotten cold faster than I remember last year. Or maybe it's just because it was low tide? Isn't it warmer at high tide? Does somebody know this?
So we went to the [heated!] pool instead. :D
Then I came home and bought my ticket to the Pusser's Wine Event. Do you have yours yet? It's this Thursday, and it's only $25 for 2 drinks plus appetizers. They put out an amazing spread, buffet-style, for us last year when we held Trivia night there. If you haven't eaten there before, this is a great way to try a little bit of everything that they offer, and discover how delicious their food is.
Also how to get into the place, because I always see the patio from the road but the entrance is a bit hidden, but easy to find once you actually turn in. Maybe we'll have some nice cool weather and get to check the patio out?
They also have a pretty good, by which I mean amazing, cocktail selection. I don't know if their famous Painkiller (available in levels 1 to 3,or maybe 4?) will be part of our selection, but if you have someone else to drive you home, then I highly recommend trying one of those.

It's also your last chance to contribute to our basket for the cancer society auction. Just bring your stuff with you Pusser's and Sharon Jones will collect it. The items in the basket (ok, a bucket, really) will be donated to kids undergoing cancer treatment to keep them occupied while they are in the hospital undergoing treatments.
I can't think of anything sadder than a kid with cancer.
Or anyone more deserving of our donations.
Our basket bucket has an arts and crafts theme, so please open your hearts and wallets and let's fill it up to overflowing for them!

Remember back in the early '80s when Trivial Pursuit was the latest craze? It was invented by Canadians, didja know? Now we have all kinds of trivia games that have been inspired by it. We will be at Triva Night at Woody's BBQ's THIS SUNDAY from 6-8.
The deadline to RSVP is TOMORROW at noon! Yikes! I am guessing there might be a (teeny tiny) grace period. You don't have to pay to RSVP but you do need to send an e-mail to Nancy and Cindey at waysandmean@pontevedrawomansclub.com. We have to give our head count to Woody. A rack of ribs is enough to convince my husband to go just about anyplace. Woody's is one of his faves, too. Look out, his cohorts call him Wikipedia. As least I know someone on my team will be able to answer the sports and history questions, because it sure won't be me!

September is National Library Card Signup Month - just in case you were paying attention to other news. We are very grateful to the Ponte Vedra Public Library for hosting our monthly board meetings. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, they are in front of the Winn-Dixie plaza on A1A. They have a lot more than books! You can sign out DVDs, read magazines, research digital databases, and - GET THIS! - they have a totally digital library so you can sign out digital books and audio books - for FREE! That is my favorite price! Go now and get your library card, if you haven't already, to make your tablet even more useful. If you appreciate them, you might want to sign up for $25 to be a 'Friend of the Library.'

Our club year is kicking off with our first general meeting THIS MONDAY. We are having a great salad with grilled chicken for lunch. When they served it last year, it reminded me of the Chinese Chicken Salad from the Cheesecake Factory. Yum!
Tonya Snowden, Social Chair, has put together a wonderful line-up of meetings, including a few new venues.
Lynne Sumner and Lisa Hayes, VPs of Programs, are getting a great speaker line-up together.
This month, Tom Kinney will be speaking on Computer Hacking and Identity Theft. I'm looking at you, Equifax!
Most importantly, at this meeting, we will be voting on our by-laws update. I have attached them in a document that shows the changes and there is also a separate summary of the changes. Yes, I made 'Cliff's Notes' for you! Note that the dues changes will take effect for the 2018-19 Club year.

It's between 5th and 6th Ave North. We are meeting for our Club Social Hour ONE WEEK FROM TODAY, on Thursday, September 21st, around 5-ish or whenever you can get there after your daytime stuff is done. You will also be in the know come December, when our general meeting will be there.

The fun doesn't stop then! On Sunday, September 24th, from 6-8pm, it's time for TRIVIA at Woody's BBQ in Ponte Vedra, on the corner of A1A and Solana (by the Winn-Dixie, near the Library!). Nancy March and Cindey Nordman, 3rd VPs Ways and Means, have put together a great night and a great deal. Bring your whole gang for dinner and trivia, just $25/person or $45/couple. There will be real CASH money for winners, so put on your thinking caps.
